S&T implements SAP for Serbian Post – JP PTT "Srbija"

Public enterprise of PTT Communications "Srbija" – First Postal Service provider with SAP in the Region

The first successfully completed project of SAP implementation in a public enterprise in Serbia was the project realized by joint efforts of Post of Serbia experts team with help from SAP integration partners and system integrator S&T Serbia, a company with a decade’s experience in business IT solution’s implementation.
With the aim of improving its market performance, facing steadily growing competition, the Postal Service provider PTT Communications "Srbija" started the innovations of existing and introducing new commercial services, modernizing infrastructure as well as improving business applications. The important step towards it was becoming the first Postal Service provider in Balkans who has designed its organization around SAP solution. To sustain existing business and capitalize upon emerging opportunities, Post of Serbia selected S&T Serbia to implement SAP in order to support its enterprise-wide business transformation strategy designed to improve its delivery quality and increase revenue.

Efficient and successful implementation


Due to its two century long tradition, with more than 15000 employees, covering 36 cities, Post of Serbia is positioned as a public operator, providing the universal accessibility of core services at the entire territory of the country. Its sheer size, activity volume, and wide range of products and services, make the Serbian Post Office a highly complex organization. This level of complexity spurred the search for an IT solution that would support the organization in handling its strategic processes. In order to answer Serbia’s Post needs, SAP modules for Finance, Controlling, Materials Management as well as Investments Management were implemented. As far as Sales module concerned, Post of Serbia kept its modern application which was completely integrated. Though SAP implies centralization, team of S&T consultants provided that each working unit controls its respective payments, keeping it distributed; which represented the greatest challenge for S&T Serbia.

Maximum flexibility and improved decision making processes


After setting up the technological infrastructure, the Serbian Post Office’s executives found SAP to offer the solution best tailored to meet its business process requirements. It’s expected that the SAP implementation project will enhance Serbia Post’s business performance: first of all SAP will enable defining of tariff system, and setting up an effective price of consignment delivery. With the integrated analysis, it will be determined where the costs and incomes are arising, and the system of control will be established.
