S&T wins a contract for implementation of storage and backup solution in DLS “Srbija” part of the State Lottery of Serbia

July, 2006. Belgrade – Serbia. The Serbian subsidiary of S&T AG, has won the contract for Serbian State Lottery Company. S&T has successfully implemented data storage with capacity of 13,5TB and backup solution for DLS “Srbija”, part of the State Lottery of Serbia.


DLS “Srbija” is the company for operating sales for lotto, bigest game of chanse, organized by State Lottary of Serbia. State Lottary of Serbia is a member of European Concil of state lottary oranization, and try to take an example from the similar company in European countries according to the their technological, organized and expertise level. DLS “Srbija” has spread point of sales network on more than 300 points all over the metropolitan territory.

By choosing the S&T solution DLS “Srbija” has responded to critical demand for continuous improvements to services and its own need for a more efficient IT infrastructure capable of meeting its business requirements. The solution provides DLS “Srbija” with a high-capacity IT infrastructure that will enhance business processes through faster transaction processing and by ensuring the maximum availability of data. The scalability of the system reduces application development time, permitting the rapid implementation of new business applications.

The contract includes software and hardware delivery, installation, implementation of the new services and user training.

The S&T solution was implemented in two stages. First, S&T implemented a reliable data storage solution with a high availability configuration to standardize data processing across the enterprise with migration of existing data from old storage solutions. In the next step, the system was expanded to include a backup solution which ensures data protection and availability of data. The new system guarantees the rapid implementation of new services while keeping all existing systems fully available.

During the entire conversion phase the systems remained available to employees without downtime. One of the major factors behind the decision to award the contract to S&T was the company’s many years of experience, high level of competence and the quality of its solutions and services.
